The Green Bay Packers signed TE Josh Babicz to the practice squad and released TE Shaun Beyer from the practice squad. The transactions were announced Tuesday by General Manager Brian Gutekunst.
(BAB-itch) Babicz (6-6, 255) is rookie out of North Dakota State that originally signed with the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent on May 1. He was released by the Panthers after training camp and spent some time on the Panthers' practice squad this season. Babicz played in 55 games in four seasons for the Bison, registering 40 receptions for 633 yards (15.8 avg.) with 11 touchdowns. He earned second-team All-Missouri Valley Conference honors as a senior after being named honorable mention as a junior. Babicz will wear No. 80 for the Packers.
