Akron (Sept. 4): Registered two tackles (one solo) and 1½ sacks, including a fourth-down sack of QB Kato Nelson midway through the second quarter to give the Tigers the ball at the Akron 45…Vs. Alabama State (Sept. 11): Blocked a 20-yard field goal in the second quarter, one that was recovered by CB Nehemiah Pritchett and returned 80 yards for a TD. Also recovered a QB Ryan Nettles fumble in the third quarter to give the Tigers the ball at their own 49…At Penn State (Sept. 18): Posted four tackles (two solo), including 1½ tackles for a loss…At LSU (Oct. 2): Racked up seven tackles (two solo), including a shared tackle for a loss…At Arkansas (Oct. 16): Recorded four tackles (three solo) and a career-high two sacks. Brought down Jefferson for a 7-yard loss late in the first half and again for a 6-yard loss midway through the third quarter…Vs. Alabama (Nov. 27): Led the team with a career-high 11 tackles (eight solo) and added a sack when he brought down QB Bryce Young for a 2-yard loss early in the second quarter.
2020: Started all 11 games he appeared in as a redshirt freshman, finishing with 42 tackles (19 solo), four sacks, 9½ tackles for a loss, six QB hits and a pass defensed…Was named to the SEC All-Freshman team after leading the team and finishing No. 3 in the conference in tackles for a loss…At Georgia (Oct. 3): Posted a season-high six tackles (one solo)…Vs. Arkansas (Oct. 10): Matched his season best with six tackles (five solo) with two tackles for a loss and a sack. Brought down QB Feleipe Franks for a 1-yard loss on the opening drive of the game for his first career sack as he forced a three-and-out…At South Carolina (Oct. 17): Matched his season high for the third straight week with six tackles (two solo) and two tackles for a loss, including a stop of QB Collin Hill for a 3-yard loss on a first-and-goal run…Vs. Tennessee (Nov. 21): Posted a season-high 1½ sacks, including a 5-yard sack of QB Jarrett Guarantano on a third-and-4 early in the fourth quarter that forced the Volunteers to settle for a 37-yard FG that they missed on the next play.
2019: Appeared in three games as a true freshman, recording four tackles (two solo) and a shared tackle for a loss…Was sidelined for much of the season due to mononucleosis…Vs. Kent State (Sept. 14): Made his collegiate debut, helping to bring down RB Joachim Bangda for a 1-yard loss on a run midway through the fourth quarter.
HIGH SCHOOL: Earned first-team all-state honors at Archer High School (Lawrenceville, Ga.), where he helped the Tigers advance to the Class 7A state semifinals…Was named the GHSA Region 8-AAAAA Defensive Player of the Year by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution as a senior…Earned all-county and all-region recognition as a senior…Also played basketball for two seasons.
