Aaron Rodgers nominated for Air NFL Player of the Week

The NFL announced today that quarterbacks Matt Cassel of the Kansas City Chiefs, Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers and Ben Roethlisberger of the Pittsburgh Steelers are the finalists for the Air NFL Player of the Week honors for games played on October 9 – 10.

Fans can vote for one player in each category on NFL.com from 8 a.m. CST on Tuesday through 2 p.m. CST on Friday to determine the Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week. The winners will be announced Friday on NFL Total Access on NFL Network and on NFL.com.   

A closer look at the Air NFL Player of the Week finalists:

  • Kansas City's MATT CASSEL completed 21 of 29 passes for 257 yards and four touchdowns in the Chiefs' 28-24 win over the Indianapolis Colts. His 138.9 passer rating was the highest of the weekend.
  • Green Bay's AARON RODGERS threw for 396 yards and two scores in the Packers' 25-14 victory over the Atlanta Falcons.
  • Pittsburgh's BEN ROETHLISBERGER tossed five touchdowns and one interception, and tallied 228 yards through the air in the Steelers' 38-17 win over the Tennessee Titans.
