Aaron Rodgers nominated for Air NFL Player of the Week

The NFL announced Tuesday that quarterbacks Jay Cutler of the Chicago Bears, Josh Freeman of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers are the finalists for the Air NFL Player of the Week honors for games played on October 16-17.

Fans can vote for one player in each category on NFL.com from 8 a.m. CST on Tuesday through 2 p.m. CST on Friday to determine the Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week. The winners will be announced Friday on NFL Total Access on NFL Network and on NFL.com.

A closer look at the Air NFL Player of the Week finalists:

  • Chicago Bears quarterback JAY CUTLER completed 21 of 31 passes for 267 yards and two touchdowns in the Bears' 39-10 victory over the Minnesota Vikings.
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback JOSH FREEMAN passed for 303 yards and two touchdowns in the Buccaneers' 26-20 win over the New Orleans Saints.
  • Green Bay Packers quarterback AARON RODGERS threw for 310 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in the Packers' 24-3 win over the St. Louis Rams. His 119.6 passer rating was the highest of any quarterback on Sunday.
