Army Staff Sergeant Carl Hackbarth and his family will be recognized by the Packers and Festival Foods at Sunday's game vs. the Chicago Bears for 'Operation Fan Mail.'

Hackbarth, a Greendale, Wis., resident, currently is a chemical biological radiological nuclear (CBRN) specialist who advises Homeland Security on CBRN aspects and facilitates training for the 457th Chemical Company of the Wisconsin Army National Guard. During his 10 years in the Army he has been stationed in New York, North Carolina and Washington, D.C., and also was deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Hackbarth will be joined at the game by his wife, Sara, an aunt, Kathy Groeschel and a cousin, Miles Groeschel.

'Operation Fan Mail' returns this season with the Green Bay Packers and Festival Foods recognizing military families at each home game. The program, which debuted in 2007, will salute the family on the field during pregame activities.

To choose families, the Packers and Festival Foods are asking interested families, or friends of eligible families, to submit an essay, 500 words or less, on why a particular family should be saluted. Essays can be sent to: Operation Fan Mail, P.O. Box 10628, Green Bay, WI, 54307-0628. Essays also can be submitted online at www.packers.com.

Families intended for recognition are those that have a member serving on active duty. The family member can be a mother, father, son, daughter or sibling.

In addition to being recognized on-field prior to the game, selected families will receive four tickets to the game and a $100 gift certificate to Festival Foods.
