Quarterbacks BRETT FAVRE of the Green Bay Packers, DREW BREES of the New Orleans Saints and STEVE MC NAIR of the Tennessee Titans are the finalists for FedEx Express NFL Player of the Week honors for games played on December 7, 10-11, while running backs WILLIE PARKER of the Pittsburgh Steelers, ARTOSE PINNER of the Minnesota Vikings and LA DAINIAN TOMLINSON of the San Diego Chargers are the finalists for FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week honors, the NFL announced today.

Fans can vote for one player in each category on NFL.com from 9am EST on Tuesday through 12pm EST on Thursday to determine the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week. The winners will be announced Thursday afternoon on NFL.com.

In addition, NFL fans may cast their votes for the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week using Sprint or Nextel wireless service - an opportunity available only to Sprint customers. This fast, convenient voting method involves texting the word FEDEX to short code 7777. Sprint customers will then receive an interactive text message that links fans to the ballot with the six finalists each week. Data and text messaging rates may apply.

Fans will be voting for more than their favorite player. For the third season in a row, the weekly FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week Awards are a win for the local community. Along with the award, FedEx will donate $5,000 every week to the local children's hospital in each winning market. The children's hospitals in the two season-long winner's markets, announced at this year's Super Bowl, will be awarded $25,000 each. That means that FedEx will deliver nearly $250,000 to local children's hospitals around the country in recognition of the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week Award winners.

A closer look at the FedEx Express NFL Player of the Week finalists:

  • Green Bay's BRETT FAVRE completed 22 of 34 passes for 293 yards, two touchdowns and a passer rating of 111.5 in the Packers' 30-19 victory over the San Francisco 49ers. Favre threw a 36-yard, first-quarter touchdown pass to Ruvell Martin, followed by a 68-yard, third-quarter touchdown pass to Donald Driver.
  • New Orleans' DREW BREES threw for 384 yards, completing 26 of 38 attempts with five touchdown passes and a 140.9 passer rating in the Saints' 42-17 victory over the Dallas Cowboys. Brees completed touchdown passes of three, six, 27, 42 and 61 yards, tying his career high of five in one game.
  • Baltimore's STEVE MC NAIR threw for 283 yards and one touchdown, completing 21 of 27 attempts for a 122.7 passer rating in the Ravens' 20-10 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. McNair's 87-yard touchdown pass to Mark Clayton gave the Ravens a 13-0 second-quarter lead.

  • Pittsburgh's WILLIE PARKER rushed for a franchise-record 223 yards and one touchdown on 32 carries in the Steelers' 27-7 victory over the Cleveland Browns. Parker scored on a three-yard, third-quarter touchdown run.
  • Minnesota's ARTOSE PINNER carried 29 times for 125 yards and three touchdowns in the Vikings' 30-20 victory over the Detroit Lions. Pinner scored on runs of one, three and four yards.
  • San Diego's LA DAINIAN TOMLINSON carried 28 times for 103 yards and three touchdowns in the Chargers' 48-20 victory over the Denver Broncos. With touchdown runs of one, six and seven yards, Tomlinson broke the single-season NFL touchdown record of 28. He now has 29 through 13 games.
