Packers kicker Mason Crosby has been named "NFC Special Teams Player of the Week" for his performance at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta last Sunday.
Crosby tied a career best by making four field goals, including one from 56 yards that tied his own franchise record. The 56-yarder pulled the Packers within 14-9 in the third quarter on their way to a 25-14 victory.
On his kickoffs, Crosby also had touchbacks on six of seven attempts.
For the season, Crosby is now 9-of-9 on field goals and has 17 touchbacks. He has made 12 field goals in a row, dating back to last season's playoffs. In regular-season games only, he has made 16 straight.
This is the third player-of-the-week award in Crosby's career. He initially won it in Week 1 of 2007, his rookie season, when he hit a 53-yard field goal and a game-winning 42-yarder in his NFL debut. He also won it in Week 1 of last season, when he first established the new franchise record with a 56-yard boot.
Crosby has made four field goals in a game three previous times, most recently in Week 6 of 2009 vs. Detroit. He also made four field goals in a game twice during his rookie season.
