Packers CB Damarious Randall has been named the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month for November, the league announced on Thursday.
In the Packers' five games in the month of November, Randall posted 19 tackles, two interceptions and six passes defensed. He also recovered an onside kick vs. Detroit in Week 10 that gave the Packers a chance at a potential game-winning field goal.
Randall recorded a career-best nine tackles in Week 8 at Denver, including his first NFL interception when he picked off Denver QB Peyton Manning in the fourth quarter. He snagged his second pro pick the very next week, intercepting Carolina QB Cam Newton in the fourth quarter and giving the Packers the ball deep in Panthers territory with a chance to drive for a game-tying score.
A first-round draft pick out of Arizona State, Randall converted from safety to cornerback for his rookie season and he leads the team with 13 passes defensed on the season. His two interceptions are tied for the team high and tied for second in the league among rookies.
