Brett Favre is pleased to announce that Bergstrom Automotive has signed on as presenting sponsor of the Fourth Annual Brett Favre Celebrity Softball Game. Bergstrom Automotive has served as the presenting sponsor since the first event in 2000.
"We are extremely pleased to have Bergstrom Automotive on board for the fourth straight year," said Brett Favre, president of the Brett Favre Forward Foundation and quarterback of the Green Bay Packers. "The Bergstrom Automotive team has shown their dedication to the Foundation and local charities by supporting this event each year."
"The Brett Favre Celebrity Softball Game is an exciting event each year that allows Packers fans the opportunity to see their favorite players while giving back to local charities," said John F. Bergstrom, CEO of Bergstrom Automotive. "Our primary reason for participating is the amount of money that the Brett Favre Forward Foundation contributes to local charities. Over the past four years the Foundation has given more than $190,000 to the children of our community."
The game is scheduled for Sunday, June 8, 2003, at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton, Wis. The game will begin at 1:00 p.m. The softball game will feature Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers offense against the Green Bay Packers defense. All proceeds will benefit the Brett Favre Forward Foundation, whose mission is to provide aid to disadvantaged or disabled children residing in Wisconsin.
The Brett Favre Forward Foundation was established in 1996 and is a 501(c)3 organization in which all net proceeds raised from each event benefits charities. More than $60,000 was donated to local charities from the softball game in 2002.
