NEW FEATURES INCLUDE 'ROOKIES' AND 'VETERANS' SESSIONS, STADIUM TOUR
The Green Bay Packers on Saturday, Nov. 17, again will host the popular 'Football 101, An NFL Workshop for Women.' This year's event features new offerings, including separate classroom sessions for "Rookies" and "Veterans," and a stadium tour.
An interactive and entertaining event geared for women to learn about of football, 'Football 101' will take place on the Associated Bank Club Level at the Lambeau Field Atrium and in the Don Hutson Center. Cost for the event is $65; attendees must be 16 or older.
The Rookies Classroom Session, designed for first-time attendees, will cover football basics such as terminology, positions, referee signals, etc. The Veterans Classroom Session, developed for repeat Football 101 attendees, covers more advanced information such as formations, film breakdown, the salary cap and NFL Draft. The stadium tour will offer the opportunity to see a private box and see Lambeau Field at ground level.
In addition to the clinics and stadium tour, the day's activities also include a welcome reception with a light lunch, a question-and-answer session with Packers players and their wives and drills with Packers players at the Don Hutson Center.
The day's agenda includes the following:
1st Quarter
-11:30 a .m. to 12:30 p.m. - Registration.
-11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - Light lunch with complimentary beverages (Legends Club).
-12:30 to 1 p.m. - Welcome and guest speaker.
2nd Quarter
-1 to 1:45 p.m.
Rookies: Classroom session with a celebrity guest.
Veterans: Self-guided stadium tour.
-1:45 to 2:30 p.m.
Rookies: Self-guided stadium tour.
Veterans: Classroom session with a celebrity guest.
3rd Quarter
-2:30 to 3 p.m. - Question-and-answer session with players and wives.
4th Quarter
-3:15 to 5:15 p.m. - Drills and skills with players in the Don Hutson Center.
-5:15 to 5:30 p.m. - Conclusion and gifts.
5th Quarter (optional)
-Opportunity to visit Lambeau Field Atrium attractions, including Curly's Pub, Packers Pro Shop, Packers Hall of Fame and Lambeau Field Stadium Tours.
A portion of the proceeds from 'Football 101' will benefit the Packers Women's Association (PWA), a non-profit organization whose main focus is "teaming up with the community."
Payment of $65 is due in advance. **Sign-up forms are available online**. Interested women also may register by calling 920/569-7251. A ticket for the event will be sent following receipt of the registration fee. Registration is first-come, first-served, and limited to 300 participants.
