GREEN BAY – The date of Mike McCarthy's return to Lambeau Field in 2022 as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys is now set.

McCarthy and the Cowboys will travel to Green Bay in Week 10 to face the Packers on Sunday, Nov. 13, at 3:25 p.m. CT in a nationally televised game on FOX.

The NFL made the announcement Wednesday morning as a precursor to the NFL's full schedule being released on Thursday.

McCarthy coached the Packers for 13 seasons (2006-18) and has been the head coach of the Cowboys since 2020. He is one of three Packers head coaches to win a Super Bowl, and he posted the second-most wins of any coach in franchise history, behind only Curly Lambeau.

With Green Bay, McCarthy led the Packers to a 125-77-4 record (.618) in the regular season, plus a 10-8 mark in the postseason. During his tenure, the Packers captured six NFC North titles, qualified for the playoffs nine times, and appeared in four NFC title games. They won Super Bowl XLV following the 2010 season.

The last time a former Green Bay head coach faced the Packers at Lambeau Field was the 2007 NFC Divisional playoffs, when Seattle was led by Mike Holmgren, another Super Bowl-winning Packers coach.

The Packers, coached by McCarthy, rallied from an early 14-point deficit in that game to score 42 straight points and win in a snowy blowout.

With Seattle, Holmgren faced the Packers seven times in all, from 1999-2008. Holmgren won the first matchup, in '99 on Monday Night Football at Lambeau Field, but the Packers won five of the remaining six. One of those was another memorable postseason contest at Lambeau Field, the 2003 NFC Wild Card, which became the first playoff game to end on a defensive score in overtime as Al Harris ran back a pick-six.

Green Bay's first game against a former head coach came in 1952, when Lambeau was coaching Washington. The Packers won the game in Milwaukee, 35-20.

The Packers also faced former coach Lindy Infante in 1997 while he was leading the Indianapolis Colts. Winless at the time at 0-10, the Colts upset the Packers at the RCA Dome, 41-38. It was the Packers' only loss that year from the beginning of October on, until falling in Super Bowl XXXII.
