Ahman Green and several teammates, other NFL players and assorted celebrities came together in Las Vegas last month and raised more than $100,000 for Easter Seals.

Having planned the event for nearly a year, Green recruited several of his peers and friends, more than 100 participants in all, to his first annual Ahman Green Shootout for Easter Seals. The golf tournament, hosted by the TPC at the Canyons, drew many of Green's current and former teammates, including Nick Barnett, Kevin Barry, Brad Bedell, Brennan Curtin, Donald Driver, William Henderson, Grey Ruegamer, Mark Tauscher and Mike Wahle.

"This event was a tremendous first step in expanding the services Easter Seals offers here in the Las Vegas market," said Brian Patchett, president and CEO of Easter Seals Southern Nevada. "Currently, there are 4,000 children unable to receive treatment through state programs, and Easter Seals will be there to meet this need in the community. We are very grateful for Ahman's assistance, and all of his teammates who participated, and look forward to next year's event on May 19, 2006."

Funds raised from this event supported Easter Seals in providing services to children and adults with disabilities in the greater Las Vegas area and nationwide. For Easter Seals Southern Nevada, the event was a great kickoff for a capital campaign designed to fund a new Child Development Center in Las Vegas. Each year, Easter Seals serves more than 1.3 million clients and their families across the country.
