The Green Bay Packers have announced Jeff Sullivan of Assumption High School in Wisconsin Rapids has been named the Green Bay Packers High School Coach of the Week.

Sullivan, in his fourth year as the head coach of the Assumption football program, led the Royals to a 32-6 victory over conference rival Athens High School and snapped a seven-year losing streak to the Bluejays, while improving their season record to 3-1. Sullivan's Royals will now travel to Gilman to take on the 0-4 Pirates.

"We have high expectations and lofty goals, but at the same time we feel that they're obtainable," said Sullivan. "This year is a perfect combination of skilled seniors and young players who are able to compete due to the hard work they've put into the season, and we're pleased with the results thus far."

A Mindoro native, Sullivan is a 1989 graduate of Melrose-Mindoro High School, where he played on the offensive and defensive line under coach Steve Sprinkel. After high school, he attended the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, where he played tight end for Wisconsin Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame inductee, John O'Grady.

Sullivan began his coaching career as an assistant for UW-River Falls in 1993. After coaching stops at Bay Port and Lincoln, Sullivan accepted the offensive coordinator position at Assumption, which he held from 2003-2007. He spent a year coaching at the youth level in 2008 and three seasons at Port Edwards High School before returning to Assumption as the head coach in 2012.

Sullivan and his staff oversee a program of 25 players.  His assistant coaching staff includes Ryan Klein, Seth Milkey, Ken Piaro, Les Sullivan and Drew Swendrowski.

Sullivan and his wife, Cindy, have two daughters, Allyse and Breana, and two sons, Jacob and Alec.
