Lambeau Field gets 'Back to Football' with fan experiences at home opener against New York Jets

Packers to welcome back alumni from across five decades to celebrate alumni weekend

Packers fans attending this Sunday's home opener against the New York Jets will relive history as the team welcomes back 40 alumni from across five decades as a part of the Packers' traditional alumni weekend celebration.The alumni will make up the game's ambassador line, and will be introduced from the field during halftime.

Additionally, two featured alumni are scheduled to make appearances throughout the weekend at various locations. Frank Winters and Lynn Dickey will be taking part in fan activities at the Packers Pro Shop, Tundra Tailgate Zone and Legends Club leading up to kickoff.

The Packers' annual Coats for Kids collection will also take place in the Lambeau Field parking lot, beginning at 11:25 a.m. Sunday. Fans attending the game will have the opportunity to donate new and gently used coats for distribution to needy children through the Salvation Army. Cash donations will be accepted as well.

To continue the team's celebration of alumni weekend, Green Bay Packers alumnus Esera Tuaolo will sing the National Anthem. The NFL on Sunday is also celebrating the 200th anniversary of the writing of the Star Spangled Banner.  A special video tribute to the anthem will be played prior to the anthem, and a commemorative 200th anniversary coin will be used for the official coin toss. 

In addition, the Packers and WPS Health Insurance will be recognizing U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Jon Williams through Operation Fan Mail on-field prior to the national anthem.

A WWII Bomber (B-25) will perform a flyover following the National Anthem.

The Packers will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by honoring Gabriela Gamboa, the president of the Hispanic Community Council of Northeast Wisconsin, as the recipient of the NFL Hispanic Heritage Leadership Award. The award recognizes the contributions of Hispanic leaders in each NFL market. Gamboa received tickets for the game and will be recognized during the game on the video boards. Each award recipient will also select an organization of their choice that serves the local Hispanic community to receive a $2,000 donation. Gamboa has selected the Hispanic Community Council of Northeast Wisconsin - Multicultural Center of Greater Green Bay to receive her donation.

New for the home opener, fans are invited to visit the Associated Packers Fan Experience in the Fan Walkway and Lambeau Field Atrium. These Associated Bank interactive zones will offer fans an opportunity to test their game readiness at each home game this season.

Also taking place at the Sunday afternoon home opener is the premier gameday tailgate party in the Tundra Tailgate Zone (TTZ) in the Lambeau Field parking lot. For a full list of gameday information, please visit packers.com/gameday/gameday-information.html.

Fans will receive Green Bay Packers pennants, compliments of Ticketmaster, as the game giveaway.

The Lambeau Field Atrium, Curly's Pub, Packers Pro Shop and guest relations desk will be open to ticketed guests only beginning at 11 a.m. The parking lot and Tundra Tailgate Zone will open four hours before the game at 11:25 a.m. Stadium gates will open at 1:25 p.m.
