Two area football teams, Wrightstown High School and St. Norbert College, took advantage of the friendly confines of the Don Hutson Center Tuesday, Nov. 14, in preparation for their playoff games this week.

The Tigers (13-0) head to Madison's Camp Randall Stadium Thursday to take on the Mayville Cardinals (11-2) at 7 p.m. in the WIAA Division 4 state championship football game. The Green Knights travel to UW-Whitewater for a noon kickoff Saturday in the first round of the NCAA Division III playoffs.

Supportive of football at all levels, the Packers have invited area playoff-bound football teams to utilize their indoor facility as weather and shorter days become a challenge in late fall. The practice dates back to 1982 when the first such facility was constructed, and later, the Hutson Center has been used since its dedication in 1994.

Another advantage for high school teams, in addition to avoiding bad weather, is being able to practice on the Hutson Center's FieldTurf surface in preparation for the same surface at Camp Randall.

In addition to the use of the Hutson Center, the Packers host area Pop Warner teams each year for games on Ray Nitschke Field, one of the team's outdoor practice fields.
