Green Bay Packers associate athletic trainer/director of rehab & return to play Nate Weir was the 2023 NFC recipient of the Tim Davey Assistant Athletic Trainer of the Year Award by the Professional Football Athletic Trainers Society (PFATS).

Weir was promoted to associate athletic trainer/director of rehab & return to play prior to the 2022 season after working as the coordinator of rehabilitation since 2017. For the previous 14 years, he was an assistant athletic trainer for the Packers. Weir originally joined Green Bay as a summer athletic training intern in 2004 and was a season athletic training intern for the Packers from 2005-07. Since 2020, he has been a consultant for the NFL's Musculoskeletal Committee - Foot and Ankle Task Force.

The Tim Davey Assistant Athletic Trainer of the Year award is presented annually. The recipient is nominated by the membership and selected by a committee that includes past recipients. This award is emblematic of the commitment, dedication and high level of integrity that Davey brought to the profession of athletic training and is representative of his level of service which he dedicated to his surrounding community. He was an employee of the New York Jets and the NFL for 33 years, serving as an assistant athletic trainer for the Jets from 1969 to 1977. Davey stayed on with the Jets from 1977 to 1991 in team operations. He later joined the NFL in 1991 in the game operations department.
