Nick Collins Nominated For GMC Sierra Defensive Player Of The Week

Packers safety Nick Collins has been nominated for GMC Sierra Defensive Player of the Week for games played on Oct. 19-20. Collins intercepted Peyton Manning’s pass on the first drive of the second half and returned it 62 yards for a touchdown to set the tone for the Packers’ 34-14 win over the Colts. Collins also contributed a tackle and two passes defensed.

Packers S Nick Collins, Giants S Michael Johnson, Bills LB Kawika Mitchell, Ravens LB Terrell Suggs and Steelers linebacker LaMarr Woodley are the nominees for GMC Sierra Defensive Player of the Week for games played on Oct. 19-20.

Fans can vote for one of these five players on NFL.com/gmc beginning immediately following Monday Night Football and ending on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. ET to determine the GMC Sierra Defensive Player of the Week. The winner will be announced Thursday evening on NFL.com.

After the regular season, five players will be nominated for GMC Sierra Defensive Player of the Year honors. Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com/gmc throughout the month of January.

Nick Collins, S, Green Bay Packers

Collins intercepted Peyton Manning's pass on the first drive of the second half and returned it 62 yards for a touchdown to set the tone for the Packers' 34-14 win over the Colts. Collins also contributed a tackle and two passes defensed.

Kawika Mitchell, LB, Buffalo Bills

Mitchell snuffed a potential go-ahead touchdown drive by the Chargers when he intercepted Philip Rivers on the Bills' 1-yard line late in the fourth quarter. Mitchell contributed seven tackles, a sack and a forced fumble in Buffalo's 23-14 win.

LaMarr Woodley, LB, Pittsburgh Steelers

Woodley posted two sacks and four tackles in Pittsburgh's 38-10 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. The Steelers held the Bengals to only 212 yards of total offense.

Michael Johnson, S, New York Giants

Johnson made two key interceptions, including one in the end zone late in the second quarter to help the Giants defeat the 49ers, 29-17. Johnson also had two passes defensed and made two tackles.

Terrell Suggs, LB, Baltimore Ravens

Suggs returned an interception 44 yards for a touchdown in Baltimore's 27-13 win over the Miami Dolphins. Suggs also had seven tackles, a sack and a pass defensed.
