Packers' 2016 preseason opponents announced

After Hall of Fame Game, Browns and Raiders to visit Lambeau; Packers travel to SF and KC

The Green Bay Packers' preseason schedule is highlighted by an appearance in the NFL/Hall of Fame Game as part of the 2016 Enshrinement Weekend that will see Packers legend Brett Favre and seven others formally enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The preliminary schedule was communicated by the National Football League on Thursday.

Aug. 7: vs. Indianapolis Colts at Canton, Ohio (7 p.m., ESPN)
Aug. 11-15: CLEVELAND BROWNS (TBA, Packers TV Network)
Aug. 18-22: OAKLAND RAIDERS (TBA, Packers TV Network)
Aug. 25-28: at San Francisco 49ers (TBA, Packers TV Network)
Sept. 1-2: at Kansas City Chiefs (TBA, Packers TV Network)

All games on the Packers TV Network will also be broadcast on Telemundo Wisconsin

For the fifth time in the last six years, the Packers will kick off their preseason slate away from Lambeau Field, traveling to Canton, Ohio to play the Indianapolis Colts. It will be the fifth time the Packers have played in the Hall of Fame game and the first time since 2003.

Green Bay returns home the next week to host the Cleveland Browns at Lambeau Field. It will be the first time the Packers and Browns have played during the preseason since they met each year from 2009-12. The Packers will stay at home to host the Oakland Raiders the following week. It will be only the fourth time the Raiders have played a preseason game in Green Bay (2014, 1998, 1971).

Green Bay goes on the road for the final two games of the preseason. The Packers travel to San Francisco for the first time during the preseason since 2008. Green Bay will conclude the preseason on the road for the first time in three years, traveling to Kansas City to face the Chiefs for the sixth time in the last seven preseasons.

The exact dates and times for the Packers' preseason games are to be determined. Flagshipped by Milwaukee's WTMJ-TV and in conjunction with WGBA-TV in Green Bay, the final four preseason contests will be televised over a 16-station network throughout the state of Wisconsin, northeastern Minnesota, Upper Michigan, the Quad Cities, Cedar Rapids, Waterloo and Des Moines in Iowa, Omaha in Nebraska, Honolulu in Hawaii, and Anchorage, Fairbanks and Juneau in Alaska.

In addition to WTMJ/NBC and WGBA/NBC, the games are televised over WKOW/ABC, Madison, Wis.; WAOW/ABC, Wausau/Rhinelander, Wis.; WXOW/ABC, La Crosse, Wis.; WQOW/ABC, Eau Claire, Wis.; WLUC/FOX, Escanaba/Marquette, Mich.; KQDS/FOX, Duluth/Superior, Minn.; KGCW/CW, Davenport, Iowa (Quad Cities); KWWL/NBC, Cedar Rapids/Waterloo, Iowa; KCWI/CW, Des Moines, Iowa; KMTV/CBS, Omaha, Neb.; KFVE-TV, Honolulu, Hawaii; KYUR/ABC, Anchorage, Alaska; KATN/ABC, Fairbanks, Alaska; and KJUD/ABC, Juneau, Alaska.
