The Green Bay Packers have signed RB Brandon Saine to the active roster from the practice squad, placed RB Alex Green on injured reserve, signed C/G Paul Fenaroli and S Anthony Levine to the practice squad and released C/G Cecil Newton from the practice squad. The transactions were announced Monday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.

He posted 51 rushing yards on 19 carries (2.7 avg.) and six receptions for 36 yards (6.0 avg.) during the preseason. A four-year letterman at Ohio State, Saine rushed for a career-high 739 yards and four TDs on 145 carries (5.1 avg.) as a junior, earning second-team All-Big Ten honors. He will wear No. 33.

Fenaroli, a 6-foot-2, 300-pound rookie out of Stony Brook, signed with Atlanta as a non-drafted free agent on July 27. He was with the Falcons during the preseason before being released in the final roster cutdown on Sept. 2. Fenaroli was a three-year starter at Stony Brook and earned first-team All-Big South honors as a junior and senior. He will wear No. 64.

Levine, a 5-foot-11, 199-pound first-year-player out of Tennessee State, originally signed with the Packers as a non-drafted free agent on May 3, 2010, after participating in the Green Bay's rookie orientation camp on a tryout basis. He spent all 16 regular-season games and the first two postseason games on the Packers' practice squad in 2010 before being placed on practice squad/injured for the final two playoff contests. Levine was released this season in the final roster cutdown on Sept. 3. He will wear No. 34.
