The Green Bay Packers and Bellin Health will host the third annual '5K Run at Lambeau Field' this Saturday, July 28, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The event is still open for participation. Registration will be available Friday and Saturday on site.

The event is a computer-timed run highlighted by a neighborhood route that ultimately takes participants into Lambeau Field and around the famed gridiron. The event has a special finish line – the Packers' 'G' painted on turf located in the parking lot.

Bellin Health is contributing its considerable race expertise to the event through logistical and medical support. The organization's 10K race, the Bellin Run, is among the nation's most popular races.

Residents who live on the race's route are reminded that their neighborhood streets will be closed from 6:30 to approximately 8 p.m. Roads that will be closed due to the race include parts of Morris Avenue, Orrie Lane, Blue Ridge Drive, True Lane and Valley View Road. For a downloadable PDF of the race route, go to packers.com/5K and click the route tab.

Due to recent high temperatures, race organizers are taking extra caution to ensure that participants are staying hydrated and safe from the heat. New on the course will be weather condition alert system signs. These signs will be posted at the start and finish line as well as at course water stations. In the event that there is inclement weather or extreme heat, the race may be delayed for a maximum of 30 minutes, after which the event would be cancelled.

Race participants will be able to tune into 101.1 WIXX radio for race announcements and important updates concerning weather conditions.

Registration packets can be picked up on Friday, July 27, beginning at 4:30 p.m. at the Oneida Nation Gate and on Saturday beginning at 3 p.m. in the Lambeau Field Atrium. Participants who haven't yet registered can do so at those times. The Tundra Tailgate Zone will also be open for participants and family members during the race from 3 to 10 p.m.
