Packers Mentor-Protégé Program to host training camp Aug. 20

Training session will be first of many as a resource for area businesses

The Green Bay Packers players aren't the only ones in training camp this month. The Packers Mentor-Protégé Program will hold a training camp session on Wednesday, Aug. 20, at 7:30 a.m. at the Legends Club in the Lambeau Field Atrium.

Past and current participants, as well as those who may be interested in applying for the program, are encouraged to attend the training camp. The Packers Mentor-Protégé Program is currently accepting applicants for its fifth year and seeks women-owned, minority-owned and veteran-owned businesses to become protégés.

The training camp session will focus on utilizing Facebook to market a business and will feature a presentation from Zack Pawlosky, President and Owner of Candeo Creative in Oshkosh. Following the presentation, there will be opportunities for questions, informal discussion and networking.

The Packers partner with AFF Research, a supplier diversity consulting firm, in order to administer the Mentor-Protégé Program. Anna Steinfest, President/CEO of AFF Research, says this training session will be the first of many similar opportunities that the program will offer for small business owners in northeast Wisconsin.

"The Mentor-Protégé Program has helped to improve many local businesses, not just the protégé companies, but the mentors as well. By holding training sessions, presentations and events, we can continue to develop these relationships and grow the small-business community."

To register for the training camp, email kekuehl@gmail.com or call 920-366-8788.

The Green Bay Packers Mentor-Protégé Program was established in 2011 to pair emerging minority- and woman-owned companies (protégés) with established, knowledgeable, and committed companies (mentors) that can provide exposure, appropriate training, resources and experience not readily available to the protégé companies.
