2026 NFL Draft: Packers trade up to select Missouri DT Chris McClellan in third round, No. 77 overall

Green Bay surrenders fifth-round pick to Tampa Bay to move up seven spots

GREEN BAY – The Packers traded up seven spots to make their second draft pick on Friday night, selecting Missouri defensive tackle Chris McClellan in the third round at No. 77 overall.

Green Bay traded its original third-round selection, No. 84, to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers along with a fifth-round pick (No. 160) in order to take McClellan.

The 6-3¾, 313-pound defensive tackle played two years at Florida before finishing with two years at Missouri. Over a total of 51 college games at the two schools, McClellan posted 133 tackles (17 for loss), with 10½ sacks, 11 QB hits and four passes broken up.

He set career highs across the board in 2025 with 48 tackles, eight TFLs, six sacks and six QB hits.

An Oklahoma native, McClellan nearly cracked the 5-second mark in the 40-yard dash at the combine, clocking a 5.05 at 313 pounds. He also recorded a 29 ½-inch vertical jump and 25 reps on the bench press at 225 pounds.
