The Green Bay Packers Foundation will present Ashwaubenon High School with a $250,000 grant for the redevelopment of the school's football stadium and practice fields in an announcement with Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy on Friday, Oct. 25, at 6:15 p.m., at Goelz Field prior to kickoff.

The grant, awarded by the Packers Foundation with funds secured through the NFL Club Matching Youth Football Field/Stadium Grant Program, will be used to match money already raised by the school in order to help renovate the football stadium and practice fields. The project is expected to be complete in fall 2014.

"The Packers are thrilled to be able to provide assistance to Ashwaubenon High School so they can complete their stadium and practice field renovations," said Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy. "High school football games are a large component of our community and we're proud to support an excellent high school football program that's close to home."

"We are so appreciative of the NFL and the Green Bay Packers for supporting our community project at Goelz Field in Ashwaubenon," said Ashwaubenon High School associate principal/athletic director Dave Steavpack. "It means a lot to the district to complete the private funding for the project, especially having the funds come from an organization that cares about the community just like our district does."

This is the second such Packers grant in conjunction specifically with the NFL's Club Matching Youth Football Field/Stadium Grant Program, however, it is the twelfth grant secured by the Packers since 1998 for Wisconsin organizations working on new or renovated athletic fields and stadiums.

Previous grants, worth a combined $1,225,000, went to West Allis-West Milwaukee School District (2011), Journey House, Milwaukee (2009), Wrightstown High School (2009), Green Bay Southwest High School (2008), Custer High School, Milwaukee (2005), Boys & Girls Club of Green Bay (2005), Bradley Tech High School, Milwaukee (2003), Green Bay East High School, (2001), Green Bay Preble High School (2001) and Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee (1998).
