GREEN BAY, Wis. -The Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame will be the site of a new exhibit, "Pro Football and the American Spirit," from Oct. 15, 2010, through Jan. 9, 2011. The exhibit is being brought to the Packers Hall of Fame by Oshkosh Defense, a producer of armored vehicles and technologies designed to protect America's service men and women.

The special display, a traveling exhibit from the Pro Football Hall of Fame, features films, artifacts and interactive displays that tell the stories of the more than 1,200 NFL players and personnel who put their pro football careers on hold to answer the call of duty and serve their country.

"The Packers and the NFL have had a longtime connection to the men and women of our Armed Forces and we are very excited and deeply honored to host this exhibit that pays tribute to those members of our pro football family who have served," said Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy. "We thank Oshkosh Defense for bringing this special event to Green Bay, and we look forward to Packers fans, football fans, and service men and women and their families coming to view and enjoy it."

Some of the exhibit topics include the NFL's generation of War Bonds during World War II, the NFL/USO Vietnam "goodwill tours," and players and personnel who served – from World War II to Desert Storm to Afghanistan. It also looks at how the NFL used its resources to increase America's collective level of patriotism during times of crisis for the country.

"We are proud to honor those in the NFL who have served in our nation's military," said Andy Hove, Oshkosh Corporation executive vice president and president, Oshkosh Defense.  "This Hall of Fame exhibit will allow visitors to learn about the experiences, accomplishments and sacrifices of these brave men and women, who serve as an inspiration to us all."

The exhibit most recently was on display at the New England Patriots' Hall at Patriot Place from February through May.
