The Green Bay Packers have placed running back Maurice "Moe" Smith on waivers, GM/Head Coach Mike Sherman announced Tuesday.

Smith, a former Atlanta Falcon, was signed as a free agent September 18 when offensive tackle Mark Tauscher was placed on injured reserve after suffering a season-ending injury in the Packers' September 15 game at New Orleans.

The 6-foot, 235-pound North Carolina A&T alumnus played on special teams in last Sunday's game against Detroit and was credited with one unassisted tackle.
