The Green Bay Packers have released defensive tackle Terdell Sands from the team's practice squad, GM/Head Coach Mike Sherman announced Tuesday.

Sands, a 6-7 and 337-pound Tennessee-Chattanooga alumnus, had been signed to the practice squad Sept. 1.

Signed as a free agent February 3, 2003, he had been on the active roster during the preseason, before being placed on waivers August 26 in the NFL-mandated reduction to the 65-player limit, posting 3 unassisted tackles.

Originally a seventh-round draft selection of the Kansas City Chiefs in 2001, Sands previously had spent time on the Packers' practice squad during the 2002 season.
