Packers release LB Briggs

The Green Bay Packers have released LB Diyral Briggs. The transaction was announced Monday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.

Briggs (first name pronounced DIE-rell), appeared in five regular-season contests and all four playoff games for the Packers in 2010 and registered eight tackles on special teams during the regular season. He was claimed off waivers by Green Bay from Denver on Oct. 26, 2010.
