Packers sign CB Baxter to practice squad

Rookie cornerback went to training camp with Minnesota

The Green Bay Packers signed CB Keith Baxter to the practice squad. The transaction was announced Tuesday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson

Baxter, a 5-foot-11, 191-pound rookie out of Marshall, originally signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent on May 6, but was released on Aug. 1. In college, he appeared in 42 games, recording 66 tackles, 14 passes defensed, two interceptions, a sack and a fumble recovery. Baxter will wear No. 31 for the Packers.
