The Green Bay Packers signed G Mekhi Becton Sr. (meh-KAI) from the practice squad to the active roster and placed C/G Jacob Monk on injured reserve. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transactions Monday.
Becton (6-7, 357), a seventh-year player out of the University of Louisville, was signed to the Packers' practice squad on Sept. 28. He was originally selected by the New York Jets in the first round (No. 11 overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft. Becton has played for the Jets (2020-23), Philadelphia Eagles (2024) and Los Angeles Chargers (2025), appearing in 61 games with 59 starts during the regular season as well as starting all five postseason contests he appeared in. Becton has started games at guard (29) and tackle (30) during his NFL career. In 2024, he was part of a line that paved the way for RB Saquon Barkley to set career highs in carries (345), rushing yards (2,005) and rushing TDs (13) and win NFL Offensive Player of the Year honors.
