The Green Bay Packers signed first-round draft choice Javon Walker to a multiyear contract today, assuring that the wide receiver will be available to practice when training camp gets underway for rookies and first-year players Thursday.

Walker wasn't the only draftee to pen a contract today, as the Packers also reached a deal with sixth-round draft choice Mike Houghton (San Diego State). The official press release regarding both signings will be available at Packers.com later this evening.
