The Green Bay Packers have signed WR Christian Watson to a contract extension. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transaction Wednesday.
Watson, who was selected by the Packers in the second round (No. 34 overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft, has played in 38 games with 35 starts in his first three seasons and has appeared in two postseason contests. He has registered 98 receptions for 1,653 yards (16.9 avg.) and 14 touchdowns and rushed for 114 yards and two TDs on 15 carries (7.6 avg.). Among players with 75-plus receptions, Watson ranks No. 3 in the NFL since entering the league in 2022 with an average of 16.9 yards per catch. He ranked No. 2 in the league in yards per catch last season (min. 25 rec.), an average of 21.4 yards that was the top mark by a Packer (min. 25 rec.) since WR James Lofton's 22.0-yard average in 1984. Watson has posted first downs on 69 of his 98 career receptions, a 70.4 percentage that ranks tied for No. 7 in the NFL since 2022 (min. 75 rec.).
