Packers sign WR Will Sheppard to active roster

Green Bay elevates two players to the active roster for gameday, releases kicker

The Green Bay Packers signed WR Will Sheppard from the practice squad to the active roster, elevated LB Jamon Johnson (jah-MON) and DB Jaylin Simpson from the practice squad to the active roster for gameday and released K Lucas Havrisik (HAVE-ruh-sick). General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transactions Wednesday.

Sheppard (6-3, 196), a rookie, joined the Packers in late July and has spent the entire regular season on Green Bay's practice squad. He played in 55 games at Vanderbilt (2020-23) and Colorado (2024). Sheppard finished with 200 receptions for 2,688 yards (13.4 avg.) and 27 touchdowns. He also returned 18 punts for 131 yards (7.3 avg.). In 2022, Sheppard registered career highs in receptions (60), receiving yards (776) and receiving TDs (nine), earning second-team All-Southeastern Conference honors from The Associated Press and third-team recognition from Phil Steele's College Football.
