The Green Bay Packers, in collaboration with Equip Sport and NFL Germany, are helping make American football accessible to everyone by introducing 12 Packers-branded Equip Sport stations across Munich.
The Equip stations offer lockers of sports equipment in public parks and recreational spaces, providing free access to flag football gear and other items and allowing for low-barrier access to encourage people to try and enjoy flag football. The Packers' involvement in the branded stations is part of the club's engagement in Germany through the NFL Global Markets Program.
"The Packers are thrilled to provide 12 Equip stations throughout Munich in partnership with the NFL," said Joan Malcheski, Packers director of brand strategy and marketing. "These stations reaffirm our commitment to making the game of American football more accessible to community members of all ages. We're excited to engage with sports fans in Munich and throughout Bavaria ahead of the NFL game in the city this fall, and we look forward to sharing what's special about the Packers with some special festivities later this year."
The Packers' Equip stations were installed in Munich this month and are operational at the following locations:

- Bolzplatz an der Pergola im West Park
- Bolzplatz Denninger Anger
- Rosengarten
- Streetball und Bolzplatz Hirschgarten
- Petuelpar
- Grünanlage Garchinger Straß
- Spielplatz Alter Botanischer Garten
- Fitness Platz Ackermannbogen
- Schlitten Berg
- Bolzplatz Adalbertstraße
- Bolzplatz Alte Heid
Munich was selected as the site of the Packers' stations to build local anticipation for the regular-season NFL game set to take place at the FC Bayern Munich Stadium in November. While the Packers are not participating in the game, the club will connect with fans in Munich in the leadup to the game through a Packers Huddle event, pop-up Packers Pro Shop and other fan activities prior to 15 November.
Fans looking to interact with the stations can borrow equipment in four simple steps: locate a station, download the Equip Sport app, borrow equipment for free and start playing. Information about the game and training tips are also available through the app.
Equip has already installed over 500 Equip stations across Europe, providing people with access to sports equipment for various sports in public spaces and parks on a rental basis. NFL Germany, along with several other NFL teams, have launched similar stations in Berlin and Düsseldorf. This free service is designed to encourage active participation in sports and introduce people to new sports.
