Packers to welcome back alumni from across five decades Sunday

The Green Bay Packers game against the New York Jets on Sunday, Sept. 14, is the annual alumni game and will feature halftime introductions of several Packers Hall of Fame inductees and about 40 Packers alumni.

The alumni will take the field and serve in Sunday's Ambassador Line during pregame festivities, and then be introduced from the field during halftime. Other Packers alumni will be in town as well, and be on the sidelines during the game.

In addition, two alumni, Lynn Dickeyand Frank Winters, are scheduled to make appearances throughout the weekend at various locations, per home game custom.

Dickeycame to the Packers from the Oilers in a 1976 trade. As the starting quarterback, Dickey led the Packers to the playoffs in 1982, defeating the St. Louis Cardinals in the first round when he threw for 260 yards and four touchdowns in a 41-16 triumph. He had a career year in 1983, earning second-team All-NFC honors when he led the Packers' offense to a then-team record 429 points while throwing for 4,458 yards and an NFL-best 32 touchdowns. He was inducted into the Packers Hall of Fame in 1992.

Winters,a hard-nosed athlete known for his freewheeling, "play to the whistle" style during his 11-year (1992-2002) Packers career, became one the NFL's top centers after spending his first five years in the NFL primarily as a long snapper. He earned USA Today All-Pro honors in 1999 and went to the Pro Bowl in 1996. Overall, he played in 156 of a possible 176 regular-season games for the Packers. He was inducted into the Packers Hall of Fame in 2008.
