The Green Bay Packers and USA Football recently awarded grants for new equipment, uniforms and other resources to several youth and scholastic football programs throughout Wisconsin.

Grants are valued up to $1,000 apiece and provide the following resources from USA Football partners: tackle football equipment from Riddell, flag football equipment, uniforms from Badger Sport, field and practice equipment from Tackle Tube, Shadowman Sports and Gilman Gear, background checks from Peopletrail and wearable technology from Catapult.

"The Packers are pleased to work once again with USA Football and the NFL Foundation to help local football programs access the resources and equipment they need," said Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy. "Through these grants, youth and school programs can help create a safe and healthy environment for young athletes to develop their skills and enjoy the sport they love."

Green Bay area youth and school-based programs awarded a 2019 USA Football Grant include: Appleton Youth Football Association, in Appleton, Wis.; Augusta High School in Augusta, Wis.; Beaver Dam Youth Football Inc. in Beaver Dam, Wis.; CUDA Youth Football and Cheer Inc. in Colby, Wis; Falcon Athletics and Green Bay West High School in Green Bay; Iola-Scandinavia Pee Wee Athletics in Iola, Wis.; Madison East High School in Madison, Wis., Mary Ryan Boys & Girls Club, Neighborhood Children's Sports League and The Show – Milwaukee Generals in Milwaukee; Menasha Football (Future Leaders Football League) in Menasha, Wis.; Oconto Falls Panthers Youth Football in Oconto Falls, Wis.; Sheboygan Youth Football in Sheboygan, Wis., Winter High School in Winter, Wis.; and YMCA of the Northwoods in Rhinelander, Wis.

USA Football's grant program will award more than $1.5 million in resources to benefit young athletes in 2019, based on merit, need and a school's or sports organization's commitment to coaching education and best practices. USA Football has awarded more than $10 million in grants to school-based and youth football programs since 2006. The grants are funded by the NFL Foundation, the league's nonprofit organization representing its 32 clubs. Its mission is to support the health, safety and wellness of athletes, youth football and the communities which support the game. USA Football is the official youth football development partner of the NFL.

"In partnership with USA Football and our 32 clubs, the NFL Foundation is proud to deliver much-needed resources and equipment to youth football leagues and school-based football programs across the country," said Alexia Gallagher, Executive Director of the NFL Foundation. "These efforts help create an enhanced football-playing experience and ensure kids can enjoy the fun and fitness of the ultimate team sport."

"USA Football is pleased to work with the Green Bay Packers, the NFL Foundation and our partners to provide resources and equipment to help athletes across youth leagues and scholastic programs have an exceptional football experience," said USA Football CEO Scott Hallenbeck. "Through these grants, the football family is supported and elevated as we continue to work together to reimagine our game for the good of our young athletes who love to play it."
