Packers vs. Cancer initiative to visit Notre Dame Academy-Menasha high school football game Friday

The Green Bay Packers will bring the Packers vs. Cancer initiative to the high school level on Friday, Sept. 26, when the Notre Dame Academy Tritons host the Menasha High School Bluejays.

Packers players Bo Melton, Karl Brooks, Colby Wooden and Evan Williams will join fans at the game, which will take place at 7 p.m. at Notre Dame Academy at 610 Maryhill Drive, Green Bay, Wis. The players will interact with the crowd and throw autographed foam footballs into the stands at the end of the first quarter.

The Packers will present a donation to both of the participating schools' to devote toward their efforts to fight cancer. Notre Dame will direct the donation to Ribbon of Hope and Menasha will direct it to the Spierings Cancer Foundation. Football fans and community members are invited to attend the game, but for those who can't be at Notre Dame in person, the game will be broadcast live on WACY – TV32.

Packers vs. Cancer, presented by Emplify Health by Bellin, is aimed at raising awareness of all cancers, increasing cancer screenings and raising funds to battle the disease, and runs throughout the month of October. The initiative will be highlighted during the Oct. 12 Packers-Bengals game, presented by Emplify Health by Bellin, and will recognize cancer survivors and those battling the disease.

Packers vs. Cancer also features a variety of fundraising opportunities for shoppers at the Packers Pro Shop. Fans can purchase a new Packers vs. Cancer hat, with $5 from the sale of each hat going directly to the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation. The green striped New Era winter knit hat, which features the Packers logo on the front and the Packers vs. Cancer logo on the back, is available now, both in-store and online at packersproshop.com. Shoppers at the Packers Pro Shop can also help raise funds for the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation by adding a $1 or more donation to any purchase, now through the month of October. Those who donate will help contribute to the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation's ongoing cancer research programs.

Named for the legendary Packers coach, the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation is dedicated to winning the battle against cancer by funding advancements in cancer research and compassionate care.
