The Green Bay Packers and UW Health on Monday hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially welcome the UW Health Gate to Lambeau Field.
A component of the partnership between the Packers and the health system, the UW Health Gate on the north side of Lambeau Field welcomes thousands of fans to the stadium on gameday and during special events. The gate, which is in a highly visible location right off Lombardi Avenue, provides access to the upper concourse and to the club and suite levels, as well as a rooftop viewing platform.
Through the partnership, which was formally announced last month at the American Family Children's Hospital, the health system will collaborate with the Packers on a variety of joint community initiatives and fan-focused events throughout the year.
Fans will see UW Health as the presenting partner for the highly successful Packers vs. Cancer program to raise cancer awareness, offer education and recognize survivors. The initiative educates fans on the importance of early detection and screenings and raises funds to support cancer research, such as the research conducted at the UW Carbone Cancer Center.
UW Health will also be the presenting sponsor of Packers Training Camp and Packers Family Night, longstanding team traditions that are rooted in community and fan-focused entertainment, and fans will notice a UW Health logo patch on the Packers' practice jerseys.
Additionally, UW Health will present several Packers initiatives and community-driven efforts dedicated to supporting kids and families year-round, including Packers Football Outreach programs and the Packers' annual Project Play 60 event. The Packers and UW Health will also continue to collaborate on youth sports programming, hospital engagement, health and wellness awareness and charitable giving to benefit American Family Children's Hospital, all focused on creating a lasting impact in communities throughout Wisconsin.
