Packers Women's Association to hold 28th Annual Food Drive Oct. 19

Fans attending Packers-Panthers game encouraged to donate non-perishable food, cash

The Packers Women's Association (PWA)is teaming up with* *Packers fans for the 28th Annual Food Drive for Paul's Pantry prior to the Green Bay Packers-Carolina Panthers game on Oct. 19 at Lambeau Field. This year's effort is headed by co-chairwomen Laura Hawk, wife of Packers linebacker A.J. Hawk, and Ericka Whitt, wife of Packers secondary-cornerbacks coach Joe Whitt Jr.

Prior to kickoff, PWA members will collect non-perishable food items and cash donations in the stadium parking lot and at the gates. Each PWA member collecting donations will be wearing a PWA jersey or button. Food items can be placed in bins located throughout the Lambeau Field parking lots.

Volunteers from Paul's Pantry, a supplementary food distribution program for the needy in the greater Green Bay area, will be assisting with the collection and wearing PWA pins.

"We're happy for the opportunity to continue our food drive for a 28th year," Laura Hawk, co-chairwoman of the Packers Women's Association food drive, said. "We are so proud of the drive's success over the years and with the help of our fans, we can continue to make strides toward tackling hunger and give back to the community that has always supported the Packers."

As an added incentive to donate to the food drive, fans have an opportunity to win Packers autographed items. For every $5 donation or five non-perishable food items contributed, a fan will receive a ticket stub. The winning ticket numbers will be drawn and announced on the scoreboard during the game. Fans with winning ticket stubs can pick up their prizes at the guest services desk in the Lambeau Field Atrium.

Overall, in the past 27 years of conducting the food drive, the PWA has collected nearly 985,000 non-perishable food items and $289,850 for Paul's Pantry.
