Rodgers nominated for Air NFL Player of the Week

Fans to track accomplishments, vote for winners on NFL.com;

The NFL announced today that quarterbacksDrew Breesof the New Orleans Saints,Aaron Rodgersof the Green Bay Packers andAlex Smith of the San Francisco 49ers are the finalists for theAir NFL Player of the Week** honors for games played on December 1-5.

Fans can vote for one player in each category on NFL.com from 9 a.m. EST on Tuesday through 3 p.m. EST on Friday to determine the Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week. The winners will be announced Friday on NFL Total Access on NFL Network and on NFL.com.  

A closer look at the Air NFL Player of the Week finalists:

  • New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees completed 26 of 36 passes for 342 yards and three touchdowns in the Saints' 31-17 victory over the Detroit Lions.
  • Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers converted 28 of 46 pass attempts for 369 yards, four touchdowns and one interception in the Packers' 38-35 win over the New York Giants.
  • San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith completed 73.9 percent of his passes for 274 yards and two scores in the 49ers' 26-0 victory over the St. Louis Rams.
