The Green Bay Packers have announced that Scott Haskins of Webster High School in Webster, Wis., has been named the Packers High School Coach of the Week.

Haskins, in his fifth season as head coach, has the Tigers out to a 6-1 record heading into the final stretch of the regular season, marking the program's best start since 2013. After grinding out just nine wins in the past four seasons, Haskins has sparked an impressive turnaround. The Tigers are currently ranked 7th in the state for Division 7 on the Bound Wisconsin Coaches Poll.

The program's rapid resurgence under Haskins reflects the culture of teamwork and community he and the team have built.

"We recently started bringing our football program to a team camp at the University of Minnesota-Duluth where we have really started to bond as a team," Haskins said. "This has really inspired the guys to be positive both on and off the field. This newfound positivity has spread through the locker room, the school and the community and has really brought our program closer together."

"Last year we started to turn the corner but throughout this summer, they really started to realize they could do it if they were positive, stuck together as a team and looked out for one another."

Beyond the on-field success, Haskins and his staff have emphasized the importance of giving back to the Webster community through organizing local meat raffles, hosting a community cornhole tournament and supporting other community-led efforts.

"It's important to have their faces out in the community that supports them, "Haskins said. "Life lessons are a big thing here. To me it matters that they grow up to be good citizens in their community wherever their life takes them."

Haskins grew up in Syracuse, New York, and attended Jamesville-DeWitt High School, where he played on both the offensive and defensive line under head coach Bruce Quimby before graduating in 1988. He initially attended Elmira College in New York before entering the United States military and receiving his bachelor's degree from the University of Maine.

Haskins went on to spend 25 years serving his country as an artillery officer. After earning his master's degree in 2019 from Xavier University, he began coaching youth and middle school football before transitioning to a high school assistant role at Webster. He was named the head coach of the Tigers in 2022.

While honored to win the Coach of the Week award, Haskins directs all the praise back to his team.

"This means a lot to our program to be recognized," Haskins said. "Our program goes through the players, they are amazing and work so hard throughout the summer and fall. If not for the players and coaching staff, this wouldn't be possible. I love teaching, coaching and being a role model to show if you do well in school, give 110%, live by integrity, loyalty and have a strong work ethic, anything is possible."

Haskins and his staff oversee a program of 53 players, giving every athlete the opportunity to suit up for varsity games. His coaching staff includes Jeff Flanagan, Marcus Scarbrough, Scott Swendiman, Kyle Gauger, Popz Reyes, Brady Madsen, and Brandon Emerson.

In addition to coaching, Haskins is a special education teacher at Webster High School. He and his wife, Roberta, have a daughter, Kateland, and a son, Trevor.
