The Green Bay Packers and WFRV-TV Channel 5 announced today that for the first time the three locally produced Green Bay Packers preseason games will be in high definition. The specific preseason games that will be broadcast in HD on WFRV-DT are:

· Saturday, August 16 at San Francisco 49ers; pregame at 7:30pm, kickoff at 8pm

· Friday, August 22 at Denver Broncos; pregame at 7:30pm, kickoff at 8pm

· Thursday, August 28 vs. Tennessee Titans; pregame at 5:30pm, kickoff at 6pm

WFRV is committed to bringing viewers the highest quality local sports programming. High definition television provides a clearer picture, better sound quality, and a more intense viewing experience, making it ideal for watching sporting events. Currently, only half of all NFL teams broadcast their preseason games in HD. WFRV, your Official Packers station, is proud to offer this option for all Packers fans in Northeast Wisconsin.

"At WFRV we continue to upgrade our technology to bring the highest quality broadcast to the Green Bay Packers fans. The greatest sports fans in the world deserve nothing less that best possible product," said WFRV President and General Manager, R. Perry Kidder.

"The Packers and our fans are fortunate to have such a fine broadcast production for Packers preseason games," said Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy. "WFRV's team has presented excellent telecasts for the past five years and now is raising the bar even higher for the benefit of our fans. We're excited that Packers fans will be able to view our games in HD this summer."

Again this year, WFRV has brought together our group of veteran network broadcasters, producers and directors to bring viewers a state-of-the-art high definition game experience. The CBS Sports broadcasting team of Kevin Harlan and Rich Gannon will call the games again this year. Former Packers All-Pro center and WFRV Sports Director Larry McCarren will provide pre-game and post-game analysis. WTMJ's Sports Anchor Jessie Garcia will be reporting from the sidelines.

Emmy Award winning CBS Sports Producer Ross Schneiderman will be leading the production team. He will be joined by Emmy Award winning CBS Sports Director Suzanne Smith.

Included with WFRV-TV's preseason package is an informative half-hour, pre-game broadcast co-hosted by Larry McCarren and Jessie Garcia. It will be produced and directed live on location at each preseason game by WFRV and CBS Sports.
