Steve Rose, author of Leap of Faith: God Must Be a Packer Fan, will sign copies of his latest book, Pea Soup for the Packer Heart at the Packers Pro Shop, Friday, Oct. 22, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. He will be joined by Packers linebacker A.J. Hawk and his wife, Laura Hawk.
In Pea Soup for the Packer Heart, Rose continues to touch the hearts of Packers fans. In Chapter #34, Rawhide, Roger & The Way Outfitters, Rose shares the inspiring stories that take place at The Way Outfitters, a charitable organization that has become especially close to the Hawks. The Way Outfitters, a non-profit group from Three Lakes, takes terminally ill children and veterans on outdoor excursions.
The book, according to the publisher, "is for the fans of the Green Bay Packers, the most endearing warm and fuzzy franchise in professional sports today. You'll find out the hilarious statement made by a Packer fan to Bart Starr on the golf course that made him crack up. Why the football Mike Janse caught on January 4, 2000 at Lambeau is more than a ball. Discover the touching act the Packer organization did for four families affected by cancer and what Packer item can cover cab fare in Hong Kong. Rose shows the meaningful connection that exists between the fans, team and the town that can only be found in the shadows of Lambeau Field."
Published by WSN Publishing, the 207-page paperback edition is available for purchase at the Packers Pro Shop for $17.95.
