Packers QB Aaron Rodgers has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 10.
Rodgers threw six TD passes, all in the first half, in Green Bay's 55-14 victory over Chicago last Sunday night. He completed 18 of 27 passes for 315 yards, compiling a 145.8 passer rating.
The six TDs in one game tied the franchise record he already shared with teammate Matt Flynn. He also tied the NFL record for TD passes in one half set by Oakland's Daryle Lamonica in 1969. The 145.8 rating is tied for the fifth highest in his career.
His 73-yard TD pass to WR Jordy Nelson in the second quarter was his 16th career TD pass of 70-plus yards, setting an NFL record he previously shared with Brett Favre and Peyton Manning (15 each). He also threw three TD passes of 40-plus yards in the game, the most by a Green Bay QB in a single game since Cecil Isbell threw four in a game in 1942.
This marks the 11th time in his career that Rodgers has been named NFC Offensive Player of the Week, and the third time this season. He was also honored this year in Weeks 4 and 7. Week 4 was also against Chicago. Rodgers became the first QB in NFL history to throw 10 TD passes and zero interceptions against an opponent in a single season.
