GREEN BAY – The Packers reduced their roster to 53 players during NFL mandated reductions on Sunday evening.
Green Bay can start building its practice squad after the waiver process concludes at 12 p.m. on Monday.

Here are some noteworthy items:
-Kyle McCord's remarkable summer in Green Bay ended with the Packers trading the first-year quarterback to Miami for a 2028 sixth-round draft pick. The 6-foot-3, 218-pound quarterback entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick (181st overall) with Philadelphia in 2025. He signed a futures deal with Green Bay in January and beat out Desmond Ridder in the spring and Kyron Drones in the summer for the No. 3 spot. McCord completed 46 of 70 passes for 446 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions (102.5 passer rating) in three preseason appearances. He played the entire preseason finale against Arizona, leading the Packers to a 42-38 comeback victory after trailing by 11 points with 3 minutes, 19 seconds to go. McCord will now back up former Packers quarterback Malik Willis in Miami.
-The Packers are in position to extend their streak to 22 consecutive years of an undrafted rookie making the Week 1 roster after keeping Florida receiver J. Michael Sturdivant. Sturdivant ended the preseason in an empathic way, catching six of seven targets for 112 yards and a touchdown. He's the fourth undrafted rookie receiver to make the Packers' initial 53 over the past 20 years, joining Malik Heath (2023), Darius Sheppard (2019) and Jarrett Boykin (2012). The 6-foot-3, 207-pound receiver had a 9.96 Relative Athletic Score coming out of Florida after running a 4.4 in the 40 at the NFL Scouting Combine with a 39-inch vertical and 10-foot-11 broad jump.
-The Packers added depth to their backfield with the acquisition of Kaleb Johnson in a trade with Pittsburgh. A spot on the 53-man roster came available when the NFL announced Sunday that Josh Jacobs will be placed on the commissioners exempt list. He is eligible to remain with the team but cannot practice or attend games. Johnson was drafted in the third round (No. 83 overall) in 2025 on the heels of an All-American season with Iowa. The 6-foot-1, 224-pound running back played sparingly during his rookie season with the Steelers, rushing for 69 yards on 28 carries in 10 games. Johnson had 17 carries for 53 yards in a crowded Pittsburgh backfield this preseason.
-After signing Jonnu Smith on Saturday, Green Bay made another move at tight end Sunday in acquiring Mark Redman in a trade with the Rams for a 2028 seventh-round pick. Despite trading Redman, LA still kept five tight ends. Redman spent his entire rookie season on LA's practice squad last year before turning in an impressive preseason, catching six passes for 63 yards. Green Bay has been in the market for an in-line blocking tight end since John FitzPatrick tore his Achilles last December and the 6-foot-5, 258-pound Redman fits the bill.
-Five of Green Bay's six-player rookie class made the 53-man roster. The lone exception was sixth-round pick Domani Jackson, who was after fighting an uphill battle after missing the entire offseason program due to core muscle surgery. The 6-foot, 194-pound cornerback was cleared for the start of training camp but missed a week due to soreness. Jackson returned to play in two preseason games, notching two tackles.
-The fifth cornerback spot went to second-year veteran Kamal Hadden, who completed a remarkable comeback from the broken tibia and fibula he sustained in Green Bay's Week 17 matchup with Baltimore last December. The 6-foot-1, 192-pound cornerback missed the entire offseason program while rehabbing but was cleared during the first week of training camp. Despite never playing nickel cornerback in college at Tennessee, Hadden adapted quickly to the slot while starter Javon Bullard missed a couple weeks with a foot injury.
-Anthony Campbell, arguably the best story of training camp, has made the initial 53. Campbell came out of nowhere to make the roster after signing to Green Bay's practice squad during the final week of regular season. The 6-foot-6, 307-pound defensive lineman frequently batted passes down at the line of scrimmage in training camp and also notched a sack in Friday night's win over Arizona.
-Also on the D-line, Jonathan Ford will continue his NFL career with the team that drafted him in the seventh round back in 2022. The 6-foot-5, 338-pound defensive tackle but never saw in-game action during his first three seasons with the Packers, eventually signing to Chicago's active roster late in the 2024 season. Ford played in 12 games for the Bears before the Packers claimed him off waivers last December. He made his debut with Green Bay in its regular-season finale against Minnesota and recorded three tackles in 18 snaps against the Bears in the NFC Wild Card playoffs. The 27-year-old defensive lineman finished training camp as the nose tackle in the No. 1 base defense.
-The Packers released long snapper Cal Adomitis and activated Matt Orzech off the physically unable to perform list. The seventh-year veteran missed training camp with a calf injury. Edge rusher Micah Parsons (knee), defensive lineman Jordon Riley (Achilles) and tight end Luke Musgrave (neck) remain on PUP and will miss at least the first four games.
-The Packers kept 10 offensive linemen for the fourth time in the past five years, with former sixth-round pick Travis Glover and third-year veteran Donovan Jennings making the team.
-The 53-man roster consists of 44 draft picks and nine former college free agents.
