Ahman Green was named the Monday Night Football SNICKERS(r) HUNGRIEST PLAYER(tm) for Week 1 following his performance against the Carolina Panthers last night in Charlotte. Green ran for 119 yards and scored three touchdowns to help lead his team to a convincing win over last year's NFC Champions on Monday Night Football.
This mark's Green second selection as the SNICKERS(r) HUNGRIEST PLAYER. Ahman won the award last year when he rushed for 176 yards in a win over the Bears in Week 4. All fans who visited the Snickers web site and correctly selected Ahman Green prior to 11:00 PM EST last night will receive a free Snickers bar, and will automatically be eligible for a trip for two to Super Bowl XXXIV in Jacksonville, FL.
For his achievement, this week SNICKERS(r) will present Ahman with a special SNICKERS(r) HUNGRIEST PLAYER Gameball, as well as donate $1,000 to his charity of choice.
Each week, five players from each team in the Monday Night game appear on Snickers.com, along with a "WILDCARD" for each team. Fans log onto the site, register with a code found inside the wrapper of specially marked Snickers bars, and select a player from the ten nominees, or choose the "WILDCARD" representative of the remaining players on the rosters.
The winner of the Super Bowl trip will be randomly selected later this week from all fans who picked Ahman Green to win the SNICKERS(r) HUNGRIEST PLAYER(tm) in last night's game. Throughout the season, Snickers will award 16 Grand Prizes, including Super Bowl Trips, Monday Night Football Weekend Getaways in New York and Miami; a trip to Hawaii for the 2005 Pro Bowl; and 2005 season tickets for the team of choice. New to the program this year, Snickers(r) will award 35 additional prizes each week, including $100 gift certificates to NFLShop.com, EASports Madden NFL Football video games and Official NFL Footballs.
Fans can visit Snickers.com this week until 11 PM EST on Monday, September 20, and vote for next week's SNICKERS(r) HUNGRIEST PLAYER(tm) for the Eagles-Vikings contest.
