GREEN BAY – The offensive rundown was fun. The defensive one is a kick, too.
Switching to the other side of the ball, here's another statistical countdown of the past season.
10: Number of times in the regular season the opponent did not score on the opening drive of the game. It's the same number of times the opponent did not score on the opening drive of the second half (though not the same 10 games). In the playoffs, the opponent was blanked on the opening drive once, and to start the second half twice.
9: The minimum number of lost yards on DT Mike Daniels' four sacks on the season. Daniels' sacks produced losses of 9, 9, 14, and 9 yards, a 10.3 average per sack that was by far the best on the team. Only S Morgan Burnett (3-26, 8.7) and DE Dean Lowry (2-19, 9.5) came close.
8: Number of players who recorded multiple sacks on the season. Seven of them did so in the regular season (Nick Perry 11, Julius Peppers 7.5, Clay Matthews 5, Daniels 4, Burnett 3, Kyler Fackrell 2, Lowry 2), while Micah Hyde got his second sack of the year in the playoffs. Perry, Peppers and Matthews also added one each to their totals in the postseason.
7: Number of games the defense recorded three or more sacks, but only three of those efforts came after the first four games of the year. In those seven total games, the Packers went 6-1, losing only to Minnesota in Week 2.
6: Number of games during the eight-game winning streak the opponent was held to less than 50 percent on third-down conversions. The only teams to hit the 50 percent mark during the Packers' 8-0 run were Seattle (6-12) and Dallas in the playoffs (6-11).
5: Number of defensive players who started at least 17 of the 19 total games. Two players, Daniels and S Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, started every game, while DT Letroy Guion missed just one start, and Burnett and CB LaDarius Gunter missed only two each.
4: Number of individual 100-yard rushing performances allowed, two of them by Dallas RB Ezekiel Elliott, the league's leading rusher. The other two came in back-to-back weeks by Tennessee RB DeMarco Murray and Washington RB Rob Kelley. Chicago RB Jordan Howard, with 90 yards in Week 15, was the only other opposing back to rush for 70 or more in a game.
3: Number of players to record their first career interceptions, all linebackers – Perry, Joe Thomas and Blake Martinez. Hyde snagged his first career postseason interception at Dallas.
2: Number of players to force multiple fumbles in the regular season. Peppers and Gunter were the team leaders with just two each, while Matthews got his second on the year in the playoffs. The opponents' regular-season total of 13 fumbles was the lowest for Green Bay since 1995 (12), though the Packers recovered eight of the 13, the third time in the Mike McCarthy era the recovery percentage was above 50.
1: Number of two-point conversions allowed. Opponents were 0-for-5 on the year until Dallas QB Dak Prescott's two-point play tied the NFC Divisional playoff at 28-28 with 4:08 left.
