GREEN BAY -- Head Coach Mike McCarthy reported Friday morning that "everything went very well" with the surgery on QB Aaron Rodgers' broken collarbone, and the two-time MVP is recovering.
Rodgers had the surgery at an undisclosed out-of-town location, and McCarthy said he will not be at the game against the Saints on Sunday.
As for a pending decision regarding Rodgers' status on the roster, and a potential move to injured reserve, those conversations are ongoing.
"We're actually discussing all the long-term options at this point," McCarthy said. "The focus has been on Aaron's health, making sure everything went well with the surgery."
McCarthy also announced that starting RT Bryan Bulaga has cleared the concussion protocol, which is good news for the Packers' offensive line. LT David Bakhtiari (hamstring) has been a limited participant in practice this week and has a chance to return as well after not finishing last week's game.
The Packers also have four cornerbacks on the injury report. Kevin King has cleared the concussion protocol and has been a full participant in practice, but Davon House (quad), Damarious Randall (hamstring) and Lenzy Pipkins (concussion) have all been limited.
"I'm hoping tomorrow brings good news," McCarthy said. "I know all those guys saw Dr. McKenzie this morning in the training room. Tomorrow's practice will be the true test for the guys that are on the bubble."
The two days of practice with Brett Hundley as the No. 1 quarterback have gone very well, and McCarthy feels the team's focus is in the right place after dealing with the shock and disappointment of Rodgers' injury last week.
"If we apply this preparation to the game, I'm confident we'll be successful," McCarthy said. "We're frankly more focused on playing in front of our fans. We're playing at Lambeau Field, we have a great home record. That's what we're tapping into. Everything is on deck for us to go win, and that's our mindset."
