NFL statement on Packers DT Pennel

Statement by an NFL spokesperson:

Mike Pennel of the Green Bay Packers has been suspended without pay for the team's next four games for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse.

Pennel's suspension begins immediately. He will be eligible to return to the Packers' active roster on Monday, January 2 following the team's January 1 game against the Detroit Lions.
