The Green Bay Packers are still accepting applications for the Jr. Community Quarterback Award. The deadline for the grant application is Monday, Nov. 27, 2006.

Open to Wisconsin residents, the Green Bay Packers Jr. Community Quarterback Award is designed to honor middle school, high school and college students (ages 13 to 21) who exemplify leadership, dedication, creativity and a commitment to improving the Wisconsin communities in which they live through volunteerism.

The grant will help finance a new project-based service or program. To be eligible for consideration, the project or program must respond to the needs of the community and be sponsored by a non-profit organization. Applicants must have founded or created the project or program and must be responsible for its management and evaluation. Persons who volunteer or participate in projects organized or managed by other individuals or groups are not eligible for consideration.

This year, five projects will be selected and each will be awarded a $1,000 grant in the name of the non-profit organization, school or religious organization sponsoring the project.

Nomination forms for both grants are available by clicking here or by contacting Bobbi Jo Eisenreich of the Green Bay Packers' community relations department by phone (920/569-7500) or e-mail (eisenreichb@packers.com).

Grant winners will be notified via mail after Dec. 4.
