The Green Bay Packers have signed QB Graham Harrell to the active roster from the practice squad, placed TE Andrew Quarless on injured reserve and signed G Jake Vermiglio to the practice squad. The transactions were announced Wednesday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.
Harrell, a 6-foot-2, 215-pound first-year player out of Texas Tech, has been on Green Bay's practice squad all season. He originally signed with the club in May 2010, spending the first 13 games of the 2010 season on the Packers' practice squad before being signed to the 53-man roster for the final three regular-season contests and the postseason. Harrell will wear No. 6.
Quarless sustained a knee injury this past Sunday at the N.Y. Giants. He played in 10 games with two starts this season, posting three receptions for 36 yards (12.0 avg.) and two tackles on special teams.
Vermiglio (vuhr-MIGG-lee-oh), a 6-foot-5, 329-pound rookie out of North Carolina State, signed with the Arizona Cardinals as a non-drafted free agent on July 30 and was released by the team on Aug. 24. He played in 45 games with 32 starts for the Wolfpack, earning All-Atlantic Coast Conference honorable mention recognition as a senior. Vermiglio will wear No. 64.
